Queensland Flood Relief

So I rarely make these kind of journal entries but here it is. There's all these extended news specials on the television  at the moment as 75% of the state has been declared as a Natural Disaster Zone with them referring to it as a "mega disaster" and "the worse is yet to come". There was this flash flood being named an inland tsunami, an 8 metre wall of water. They're cutting the electricity to Brisbane CBD this morning and waiting for tomorrow when it's supposed to reach its peak. This is the information that I've gathered from the extended news editions over the last 24 hours. Apparently, they expect it to surpass the flood disaster of 1974. They're reporting some rural flooding in its neighbouring state this morning New South Wales and issued warnings out there. So much for an Australian Summer huh?

The Gawler Show of South Australia is accepting donations from today, here is their post from facebook (If you are not situated near this venue, then there are a list of places accepting donations at the above email address):
"From tomorrow morning until January 21st the Gawler Show Office will be open from 10am - 6pm as a collection point for donations to the Qld Flood Victims. If you can help, donate we would love to see you"

and finally, I don't know who started it but on facebook there is this message circulating:
"♥♥♥♥♥ Please put these hearts on your status in respect of people who have died & are still missing in the Queensland floods! Thinking of all the communities and people who are suffering in the flooding crises. The Queensland/Aussie spirit is showing through it all... ♥♥♥♥♥"
